After Party

"After Party" is about failure and fragileness in everyday life. The photographs depict an uncanny feeling and the objects appear in unusual setting and unexpected viewpoints. "Hope" and "Sadness", "Dark" and "Light" are some of the themes exploring in these series. Broken objects, candles, balloons, bottles, in an unusual angel representing failure

Tomas Friedman’s work was influential on me in the development of my art practice. One of his paintings, Untitled (Blue Popped Balloon, 2006 ) made me think of a photographic project. A popped balloon could be the symbol of a lost happiness. I was also interested in Martha Roslers’s “Bringing the War Home” series and studied how to create the uncanny in everyday routine activities and it made me interested to undertake this project.
